Where Oz genuinely beats us
Presentation. A colossal floating head, pyrotechnics, a booming voice and a colour system so committed that the entire city is one hex value. Every stakeholder who has ever seen that dashboard walked out convinced. We have a chart library and a dark mode. It is not the same show.
Where GSC Wizard wins
The numbers are real. Behind the Oz dashboard is one man and six levers. There is no data layer. There is no source of truth. The official data governance policy is "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain", which is the worst one ever written down. The entire reporting stack has a single point of failure and that point of failure is a dog.
GSC Wizard pulls from the Search Console API, the Bing Webmaster API and GA4. Every number on screen traces back to a property you own and can check yourself in Google's own interface. You are welcome to pull the curtain. That is what the curtain is for.

Reach. It ships with everything. Windows, macOS, that printer driver, the thing your finance team insists on. No SEO tool on earth has that distribution, and it has been shipping continuously for thirty years without a rewrite, which is more than most of us can say.
Where GSC Wizard wins
The Setup Wizard has exactly one insight and it is "Installation Complete". It will not tell you which queries are sitting in striking distance on page two. It will not flag the twelve posts that quietly lost 40% of their clicks since spring, or the two URLs cannibalising each other for your best commercial term. It has never mentioned your Core Web Vitals. It did install three toolbars, and its progress bar has been at 99% since Tuesday.
GSC Wizard is one OAuth click, no steps, no restart required, and the only thing it installs is a dashboard. And, yes, technically we are also a wizard that walks you through connecting a property. We are just the one that has something to say afterwards.

Ambition. He is the only competitor here who understood, in 1797, that the job is to hand the repetitive work to something that does not get bored. He enchanted a broom to fetch water so he would not have to. That is an agent with tool access. He was two centuries early and everyone laughed at him.
Where GSC Wizard wins
He shipped it without a stop condition. No rate limit, no idempotency, no dry run, no way to revoke the broom's credentials. When he tried to halt the job by splitting the broom in half, he got two brooms, and then four, and then a flooded workshop - a textbook retry storm, discovered by a teenager, in a poem, before electricity. Anyone who has watched an unsupervised script rewrite every title tag on a 40,000-page site has met this broom.
