Google Search Console does not show real-time data. Here is what to expect:
Performance Report Data Delay
The Performance report (clicks, impressions, CTR, position) is typically 2–4 days behind. This means the last 2–4 days in the report will have lower numbers than they ultimately will - the data is still being processed.
Sometimes the delay can extend to 5–7 days during Google system updates or periods of high data processing load.
Coverage / Pages Report
Indexing data tends to update more frequently and reflects changes faster than performance data, but is still not instantaneous.
Practical Tips
- When comparing performance, exclude the last 3–4 days from your date range for more accurate numbers
- For week-over-week comparisons, compare full weeks (Monday to Sunday) to avoid partial-data distortion
- Historical data (beyond 16 months) is not retained by Google Search Console
