The best ChatGPT plugins for online marketing: SEO, ads and analytics

The ChatGPT plugin directory lists more than 4,000 plugins and has no Marketing category. SEO, advertising and analytics plugins are scattered across Business & operations, Data & analytics, Productivity and Developer tools, which makes the good ones surprisingly hard to find. We went through it in September 2026 and picked twelve worth installing, grouped by job. For each one we say whose data it returns, whether it can change anything in your accounts, and what it costs to use properly.

Disclosure: we build one of the plugins on this list (GSC Wizard). It gets the same "watch for" section as everything else. Directory ranks are taken from mcptop.com, which snapshots the ChatGPT directory daily, on 27 September 2026. They move every day, so read them as a popularity signal, not a quality score.

Best for your own search data

GSC Wizard. Search Console and GA4, measured rather than estimated, with the analysis done before ChatGPT sees it.

Best for competitor research

Ahrefs or Semrush, whichever you already pay for. Ubersuggest if you pay for neither.

Best for paid media

Windsor.ai for cross-channel reporting, Adspirer if you want ChatGPT to actually manage campaigns.

What a ChatGPT plugin is in 2026

The name has changed twice, so older guides are confusing. Connectors became apps in late 2025, and in July 2026 OpenAI replaced the app directory with a plugin directory at chatgpt.com/plugins. A plugin bundles one or more apps with optional skills and templates. Underneath, nothing changed: each app is a remote MCP server on a public HTTPS endpoint that you authorise with OAuth. These have nothing to do with the 2023 plugin store, which closed in April 2024. Our ChatGPT connectors playbook walks through the full history.

Three practical points for marketers. Installing a plugin from the directory works on every plan, including Free. On Business and Enterprise a workspace admin decides which plugins are allowed, so check before you promise a client a workflow. And ChatGPT asks for confirmation before a plugin takes an action with outside effects, such as pausing a campaign or sending an email, but the confirmation is only as good as your attention when you click it.

One gap shapes the whole category: Google has no plugin in the directory. There is no official Google Ads, Google Analytics or Search Console plugin in ChatGPT. Google's own GA4 MCP server runs locally, and ChatGPT only talks to hosted servers. Every Google number you see in ChatGPT reaches it through a third party, so which third party you pick matters more than it would for most categories.

How to judge a marketing plugin (five questions)

1. Whose data is it?

Your own accounts (Search Console, GA4, ad platforms, your CRM) give measured numbers. Third-party SEO and traffic platforms give modelled estimates about everyone. Both are useful; ChatGPT will not tell them apart unless you ask.

2. Read, or read and write?

A read-only plugin can at worst give you a wrong answer. A plugin with write access to an ad account can change live spend. Know which you are installing.

3. What does one answer rest on?

Some plugins return raw rows and let the model do the maths; others return finished figures. With large accounts, raw rows get truncated and the model computes totals over whatever is left, without saying so.

4. Who holds the token?

Aggregators that connect dozens of platforms store OAuth tokens for all of them. That is convenient and also one vendor with access to your whole marketing stack. Check their security page before connecting a client's ad accounts.

5. What does the vendor charge?

The plugin is free to install; the account behind it rarely is. Many SEO platforms also meter plugin calls against API credits, and ChatGPT exploring a question makes far more calls than you would clicking through the UI.

SEO

The deepest part of the marketing directory. The split that matters is between plugins that read your own Search Console data and plugins that sell you estimates about the whole web. You want one of each, and you want to know which one answered.

1. GSC Wizard

Good at: answering questions about your own Search Console and GA4 data in plain language, with finished figures instead of row dumps. Ask "which pages lost non-brand clicks since the last core update, and was it rankings or CTR?" and the analysis runs server side against a warehouse that keeps years of history, well beyond Google's 16-month limit. The plugin covers query and page performance, cannibalisation, content decay, striking-distance opportunities, URL inspection, IndexNow, Bing Webmaster data and GA4 including traffic from AI assistants. It is the highest-placed plugin in the directory built on first-party Search Console data (#86 overall, #17 in Developer tools).

Watch for: it is a paid product, and it is ours. It does not estimate competitor traffic or backlinks; pair it with one of the next three for that. A handful of tools can act on your properties, such as submitting URLs to IndexNow, and ChatGPT confirms those before running them.

Access: plans from €17/month with a 7-day free trial. Install from the ChatGPT directory, or read about the GSC Wizard ChatGPT app first.

2. Ahrefs

Good at: backlinks above all, plus keywords, rankings, competitor analysis and brand mentions in AI answers. If the question is "who links to our three biggest competitors but not to us?", this is the plugin to ask.

Watch for: the data is modelled. Traffic and volume figures are Ahrefs' estimates, and they will not match your Search Console clicks. How deep a query goes depends on your Ahrefs plan, and an open-ended question can burn through API allowance quickly.

Access: requires a paid Ahrefs subscription. Ahrefs in the directory.

3. Semrush

Good at: keyword research and competitive analysis if Semrush is already your platform of record: domain overviews, keyword gaps, traffic and backlink data from the same database you use in the UI.

Watch for: the same modelled-data caveat as Ahrefs, and Semrush meters API-backed features against units on your subscription. Historical pulls are expensive in units, so give ChatGPT explicit date ranges and row limits instead of letting it decide.

Access: requires a Semrush subscription. Semrush in the directory.

4. Ubersuggest

Good at: being the most popular SEO plugin in the directory (#37 overall) and the most affordable way to get keyword ideas, traffic estimates, backlinks, SERPs, site audits and PageSpeed data in one place. For small businesses and freelancers who will never pay for Ahrefs, it covers most everyday questions.

Watch for: estimates are shallower than the big two for competitive niches and non-English markets. Use it for direction, not for numbers in a client deck.

Access: Ubersuggest account, paid tiers for heavier use. Ubersuggest in the directory.

5. SE Ranking

Good at: breadth, and managing your projects rather than just reading them. Besides keywords, backlinks, SERP analysis and audits, the plugin can work with rank-tracking projects and covers AI search visibility, so it doubles as a light project manager for an SEO account.

Watch for: a large tool surface means more chances for ChatGPT to pick the wrong tool when several SEO plugins are enabled together. Enable it on its own for SE Ranking questions. Calls draw on your plan's API credits.

Access: SE Ranking subscription. SE Ranking in the directory.

6. Similarweb

Good at: the question SEO tools answer badly: how much total traffic a competitor gets, and from which channels. Organic, paid, social, referral and audience overlap, useful for sizing a market or sanity-checking a competitor's growth story.

Watch for: these are panel-based estimates, least reliable for small sites. Never put a Similarweb visit count next to your own GA4 sessions without a label; they measure different things.

Access: Similarweb account, depth depends on plan. Similarweb in the directory.

With no Google Ads or Meta plugin from the platforms themselves, paid media in ChatGPT runs through data connectors and management tools. This is also where write access matters most, because a wrong action costs money rather than time.

7. Windsor.ai

Good at: cross-channel reporting from one connection. It links more than 350 sources, including Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Microsoft Ads, GA4, Search Console, HubSpot, Shopify and Klaviyo, so "compare cost per lead across every channel last quarter" is one question. It is the highest-placed marketing plugin in the directory at #20, and it can also act on campaigns, such as pausing them or changing budgets, after you confirm.

Watch for: one vendor holding tokens for your entire stack, and write access that reaches live spend. Connect only the accounts a question needs, and give it read-only access for any client who has not explicitly agreed to changes made from ChatGPT.

Access: Windsor.ai account, priced by data sources. Windsor.ai in the directory.

8. Adspirer

Good at: actually managing campaigns from the chat. Adspirer works across Google, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok Ads, from reading performance to drafting creatives and launching or adjusting campaigns in plain language. For a small business owner who finds Google Ads' interface hostile, that is a genuine shortcut.

Watch for: the same shortcut removes the friction that stops mistakes. Read every confirmation dialog in full, keep budget caps set at the platform level, and check the platform UI after any structural change such as new campaigns or bidding strategy.

Access: Adspirer account. Adspirer in the directory.

9. Supermetrics

Good at: reporting, if your agency already runs on Supermetrics. It connects 200+ sources and returns the campaign metrics your Looker Studio or spreadsheet reports already use, so answers in ChatGPT match the numbers in the client report.

Watch for: it is a data pipe, not an analyst. Large pulls come back as many rows, and ChatGPT does the arithmetic. Ask for the row count behind any total and spot-check one figure against the ad platform.

Access: Supermetrics subscription. Supermetrics in the directory.

10. LinkedIn Ads

Good at: being official. Built by LinkedIn, it analyses campaign performance, audiences and spend in your ad accounts, and it is deliberately read-only, which makes it the safest ads plugin to hand to a whole team.

Watch for: it covers LinkedIn only, and it cannot change anything, so optimisation still happens in Campaign Manager. It is the only major ad platform with its own plugin in the directory; Google and Meta have none.

Access: free with a LinkedIn ad account. LinkedIn Ads in the directory.

Product and web analytics

With no Google Analytics plugin from Google, analytics in ChatGPT means either a third-party GA4 connector (GSC Wizard, Windsor.ai and Supermetrics above all read GA4) or a product analytics platform with its own plugin. These two lead the Data & analytics category.

11. PostHog

Good at: the funnel after the click. Trends, funnels, retention, errors and feature flags from your own PostHog project, and it ranks #1 in the directory's Data & analytics category. For a marketer at a SaaS company, "which signup source retains best after 30 days?" is a question GA4 answers poorly and PostHog answers well.

Watch for: it can also create and change things such as feature flags and insights, which belong to your product team. Agree who is allowed to write before connecting it to a shared project.

Access: PostHog account; generous free tier. PostHog in the directory.

12. Amplitude

Good at: behavioural analytics for teams already on Amplitude. It can query charts and also create or update charts, dashboards and alerts, so a conversation can end with a saved dashboard rather than a screenshot.

Watch for: the answers are only as good as your event taxonomy. If events are named inconsistently, ChatGPT will guess which one you meant. Ask it to name the event behind each figure.

Access: Amplitude account. Amplitude in the directory.

Also worth a look

HubSpot, Klaviyo and Mailchimp

CRM and email rather than SEO or ads, but popular: HubSpot is #1 in Business & operations and can create and update CRM records; Klaviyo reports campaign and flow revenue; Mailchimp can analyse and create campaigns.

Canva and Metricool

Canva (#1 in Creativity) creates on-brand designs for ads and social posts. Metricool analyses social accounts and can schedule posts.

Serpstat and Peec AI

Serpstat is a solid, cheaper SEO research alternative with keyword clustering. Peec AI tracks brand visibility inside AI answers, if that question matters to you; we compare that category in AI tools for GA4, GSC and AI visibility.

Coupler.io and Dataslayer

Smaller marketing data connectors covering ads, GA4 and CRM sources. Worth comparing on price if Windsor.ai or Supermetrics is more than you need.

Adobe Marketing Agent

Real-Time CDP, Journey Optimizer and Customer Journey Analytics in ChatGPT, but only on ChatGPT Enterprise with an Adobe account.

Three traps with marketing plugins

Estimates in the same table as measurements

Enable GSC Wizard, Ahrefs and Similarweb together and ask for "our traffic versus competitors", and you will get a tidy table mixing your measured Search Console clicks, Ahrefs' organic estimate and Similarweb's panel visits, with nothing to say they are different kinds of number. Nothing in the plugin protocol carries provenance. Ask for a source column every time, and never send a client a figure you cannot trace to a named plugin and date range.

Write access is budget access

ChatGPT's confirmation step protects you from an action you did not ask for, not from one you asked for badly. "Pause the underperforming campaigns" depends entirely on how the model defined underperforming. Before approving any bulk ad change, ask it to list exactly what it will change and why, then approve the list rather than the intent. Keep account-level spending limits set on the platform itself.

Too many plugins in one chat

Every enabled plugin adds its tool definitions to the model's context. Five overlapping marketing plugins give the model hundreds of similar-sounding tools, and it starts answering a Search Console question with a third-party estimate, or a GA4 question through the wrong connector. The symptom looks like the model being careless; the fix is to enable only the two or three plugins the current question needs.

Three setups that work

SEO specialist

GSC Wizard for what actually happened on your sites, plus Ahrefs or Semrush for competitors and links. Two plugins, one measured and one modelled, and you always know which answered.

PPC manager

Windsor.ai or Supermetrics for cross-channel reporting, LinkedIn Ads for safe read-only B2B analysis, and Adspirer only in a separate chat when you mean to change something.

Growth marketer at a SaaS company

GSC Wizard for acquisition from search and GA4, PostHog or Amplitude for what those users did next, and HubSpot for the pipeline. That covers the full path from query to revenue.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the old ChatGPT plugins from 2023?

No. The 2023 plugin store closed in April 2024. Today's plugin directory, since July 2026, replaced the 2025 app directory, and each plugin is built on remote MCP servers authorised with OAuth.

Is there an official Google Ads, GA4 or Search Console plugin?

No. Google has none in the ChatGPT directory. Every Google marketing integration in ChatGPT comes from a third party, which is why who holds your token matters.

Do marketing plugins work on free ChatGPT?

Installing from the directory works on every plan. On Business and Enterprise an admin controls which plugins are allowed. Most plugins need a paid account with the vendor to return useful data.

Can a plugin change my ad campaigns?

Some can, after you confirm in ChatGPT: Windsor.ai and Adspirer, for example. LinkedIn's official plugin is read-only. Start read-only and add write access for a specific workflow.

How many plugins should I enable at once?

Two or three per conversation, matched to the question. More than that and the model starts picking the wrong source.
