The best Google Search Console tools for WordPress in 2026
On WordPress the first choice is where you want to see the data: inside the WordPress dashboard through a plugin, or in a separate tool. Plugins are convenient and free or nearly free, and on their free and entry plans they show short windows of data. Separate tools do far more and are one more login. For a single site, start with the free plugin from Google. We are a separate tool, so we come last in this list.
Disclosure: we make one of the tools in this guide (GSC Wizard). For WordPress sites we have ranked it fifth of 5, and it gets the same "watch for" note as every other tool. Facts about other products come from each vendor's own website, checked October 3, 2026, and every source is linked at the bottom. Spot an error? Tell us.
On this page
Site Kit by Google. Search Console, Analytics and PageSpeed inside WordPress, for nothing.
Rank Math. Search Console data inside WordPress, with per-post analytics and keyword tracking on the paid plans.
SEO Gets or GSC Wizard. A separate dashboard with real history, across all your sites.
What WordPress sites actually need from a Search Console tool
The question is less which tool and more where the data should live.
Data where you work
If you write in WordPress every day, numbers in the dashboard and the admin bar get looked at. A separate tool has to be worth the extra tab.
Per-post numbers
The useful unit on a WordPress site is the post. You want clicks and queries for the one you are editing.
History longer than a plugin shows
Plugins show short windows: up to 90 days in Site Kit, and 90 or 180 days on Rank Math's Free and PRO plans. Trend work needs more.
One less thing to maintain
Every plugin is another thing to update and another connection to your Google account. An external tool adds nothing to the site.
More than one site
On a multisite network Site Kit has to be activated site by site, and plugin dashboards are per site. If you manage several WordPress sites, an external tool gives you one screen.

The 5 tools, in the order we would try them
Five options, plugins first.
1. Site Kit by Google
What it is. Google's official WordPress plugin. It puts Search Console clicks, impressions and top queries inside the WordPress dashboard, next to Analytics and PageSpeed data, and shows per-page stats in the admin bar.
Why it fits WordPress sites. It is made by Google and it is free. You get clicks, impressions and top queries in the dashboard, per-page stats in the admin bar, and Analytics and PageSpeed in the same place. For a single site it is the obvious first step.
Watch for. The dashboard shows the last 7, 14, 28 or 90 days and nothing older. On a multisite network it has to be activated site by site, and it shows numbers without analysing them.
Cost. Free. Site Kit. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
2. Rank Math
What it is. A WordPress SEO plugin whose Analytics module pulls Search Console data into WordPress and, on paid plans, tracks keyword positions per post.
Why it fits WordPress sites. If Rank Math is already your SEO plugin, its Analytics module adds Search Console data to WordPress without another plugin. The paid plans add per-post analytics, a keyword rank tracker and daily refreshes, and Business removes the retention limit.
Watch for. The free version keeps 90 days and refreshes every three days, and PRO keeps 180 days. The rank tracker is on the paid plans only, which start at €7.99 a month in the first year, billed annually.
Cost. The free version keeps 90 days of Search Console data and refreshes every three days. PRO is €7.99 a month in the first year, billed annually, then €8.99 (180 days, daily refresh, 500 tracked keywords). Business is €24.99, then €27.99 (no retention limit, 10,000 keywords). Rank Math pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
3. Google Search Console
What it is. Google's own tool, and the source every other product on this page reads from. It has gained a lot recently: an hourly view of the last 24 hours, custom annotations on charts, a branded queries filter on sites with enough impressions, weekly and monthly chart views, query groups in the Insights report for larger sites and, since June 2026, a report on impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode.
Why it fits WordPress sites. Whatever plugin you use, Search Console itself has everything the plugin shows and more: 16 months of data, the page indexing report, URL inspection, and annotations for the day you changed a theme or a plugin. Our guide to Search Console for WordPress covers setup.
Watch for. It lives outside WordPress, shows one property at a time and stops at 1,000 rows per table.
Cost. Free. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
4. SEO Gets
What it is. A clean, fast Search Console dashboard built for people who run many sites. The free plan covers unlimited sites and team members and includes the master dashboard, growth and decay tabs, branded versus non-branded tracking and Google core updates on charts. The paid Core plan adds GA4, content groups, topic clusters, opportunity reports, annotations that start an SEO test automatically, an MCP server and no-login client links. It reads Search Console live and shows Google's 16 months; longer history is a per-site add-on called Super Sites.
Why it fits WordPress sites. When you run more than one site, or want more history than a plugin shows, the SEO Gets free plan gives you all of them in one dashboard, with growth and decay tabs and CSV exports of up to 50,000 rows. It connects through Google, so there is nothing to install in WordPress.
Watch for. It is not a plugin, so nothing appears in wp-admin. Content groups, opportunity reports and GA4 are on Core at $59 a month, and history is 16 months unless you add Super Sites.
Cost. Free plan. Core is $59 a month or $590 a year. Super Sites, which keep up to five years of history and add index reporting for up to 5,000 pages, cost $10 per site per month. Sites and team members are unlimited on every plan. SEO Gets pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
5. GSC Wizard
What it is. A Search Console, GA4, Bing, Yandex and Google Merchant Center analysis tool. It stores your Search Console history in its own warehouse (up to ten years on stored properties) and builds reports on top: content decay, cannibalization, CTR benchmarks, striking-distance queries, forecasting, anomaly detection and an indexing tracker. Traffic and indexing alerts go to Slack, Microsoft Teams or a webhook, and the same data is available to ChatGPT and Claude through an MCP server, including the Yandex and Merchant Center data.
Why it fits WordPress sites. This is the option for when the site, or several sites, matter enough to monitor. It keeps history for up to ten years on stored properties, finds decaying posts and competing URLs, checks whether the posts you add to its tracker are indexed, and sends alerts to Slack or Teams, with an email digest for indexing changes. Like SEO Gets it connects through Google, so it adds no plugin to WordPress.
Watch for. It is not a WordPress plugin and shows nothing inside wp-admin. It costs €17 a month after a 7-day trial, with no free plan for the web app, which is more than a single small site usually needs.
Cost. 7-day free trial without a card, then Starter at €17 a month (10 live properties plus 5 with stored history, 15 in total, 1 invited seat), Pro at €39 (50 plus 25, 75 in total, 3 seats) and Business at €249 (500 plus 150, 650 in total, 10 seats). In US dollars that is $19, $49 and $299. Every feature is on every plan. There is no free plan for the web app and no annual discount. GSC Wizard pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best Search Console plugin for WordPress?
Site Kit by Google. It is free and official, and it shows Search Console, Analytics and PageSpeed data in the WordPress dashboard. Rank Math's Analytics module is a good alternative if Rank Math is already your SEO plugin.
Do I need a plugin to use Search Console with WordPress?
No. Search Console works with any site once you verify it, and external tools connect through your Google account. A plugin only changes where you see the data.
How long do WordPress plugins keep Search Console data?
Site Kit shows up to the last 90 days. Rank Math keeps 90 days on its free version and 180 days on PRO, with no limit on its Business and Agency plans. Search Console itself keeps 16 months, and tools such as GSC Wizard store it for longer.
Is GSC Wizard a WordPress plugin?
No. It is a separate web application that connects to Search Console through your Google account. Nothing is installed in WordPress and nothing appears in wp-admin.
