The best Google Search Console tools for SaaS companies in 2026
SaaS search traffic has a shape of its own. A large share is people typing your brand name, which says more about your sales team than about your SEO. The rest is split between a blog, documentation, integration pages and comparison pages that convert at very different rates. A Search Console tool is useful to a SaaS team to the extent that it can separate those things and tie them to signups.
Disclosure: we make one of the tools in this guide (GSC Wizard). We have put it first for SaaS companies, which is exactly the kind of ranking to be sceptical of, so it gets the same "watch for" note as every other tool and the alternatives are described on their merits. Facts about other products come from each vendor's own website, checked October 3, 2026, and every source is linked at the bottom. Spot an error? Tell us.
On this page
GSC Wizard. Branded and non-branded traffic, content groups for blog, docs and product pages, and GA4 key events next to search clicks.
SEOTesting. Tests on titles, templates and page changes, before and after or against a control group, with GA4 events on time-based tests.
Ahrefs. None of the first-party tools can show you what a competitor ranks for.
What SaaS companies actually need from a Search Console tool
Total organic clicks is the least useful number a SaaS team can report. These are the cuts that matter.
Brand and non-brand, separately
If brand queries are 60 percent of clicks, total organic traffic tells you almost nothing about content. You need the split on every report, with your own definition of brand, including misspellings and product names.
Sections of the site
Blog, docs, integrations, templates and comparison pages behave differently. Grouping URLs lets you see that the blog grew while the integration pages fell.
Signups, not sessions
Leadership asks what search contributed to pipeline. That needs GA4 key events tied to landing pages, next to the clicks.
Evidence
A growth team runs experiments. For SEO changes that means a before-and-after or a control group with some statistics, not a screenshot of a line going up.
Something for the board deck
A forecast with a stated range, and year-on-year numbers that still exist after 16 months.
Traffic from AI assistants
Visits referred by ChatGPT, Perplexity and others now show up in GA4. It helps to see them next to organic search.

The 6 tools, in the order we would try them
Six tools. The first three do different jobs, and a growing SaaS team often ends up with all three.
1. GSC Wizard
What it is. A Search Console, GA4, Bing, Yandex and Google Merchant Center analysis tool. It stores your Search Console history in its own warehouse (up to ten years on stored properties) and builds reports on top: content decay, cannibalization, CTR benchmarks, striking-distance queries, forecasting, anomaly detection and an indexing tracker. Traffic and indexing alerts go to Slack, Microsoft Teams or a webhook, and the same data is available to ChatGPT and Claude through an MCP server, including the Yandex and Merchant Center data.
Why it fits SaaS companies. Branded keywords are defined per property with plain text or regex, and a branded or non-branded filter is available on the dashboard and the query reports, and a split set there carries over to the Pages report. Content groups separate blog, docs and product pages. With GA4 linked, key events and sessions sit next to clicks per landing page, and a separate view shows traffic referred by AI assistants. The forecast report gives leadership a projection. More on our SaaS page.
Watch for. The branded filter is not on every report: forecast and decay do not have it. Its experiment report is observational: a comparison of two page groups, not a controlled test. There is no competitor or keyword data, so it cannot tell you what to write about beyond queries you already appear for. Invited seats are 1, 3 or 10, and there is no PDF for the board deck: exports are CSV, HTML and PNG.
Cost. 7-day free trial without a card, then Starter at €17 a month (10 live properties plus 5 with stored history, 15 in total, 1 invited seat), Pro at €39 (50 plus 25, 75 in total, 3 seats) and Business at €249 (500 plus 150, 650 in total, 10 seats). In US dollars that is $19, $49 and $299. Every feature is on every plan. There is no free plan for the web app and no annual discount. GSC Wizard pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
2. SEOTesting
What it is. One of the longest-running Search Console tools, launched in 2016 under the name SanityCheck. Its core is SEO testing: single-page, group and URL-switch tests measured before and after a change, split tests against a matched control group, and tests of AI-referred traffic using GA4. Around that sit the standard reports (content decay, cannibalization, striking distance, brand versus non-brand), content groups, annotations with Google updates added automatically, and a branded monthly PDF report.
Why it fits SaaS companies. It fits a team that already thinks in experiments. Time-based and split tests with a control group, GA4 events reported on time-based tests, an AI summary with a verdict, and a test type for AI-referred sessions. Users are unlimited, so the whole marketing team can log in.
Watch for. $50 a month per site, and a separate Search Console property for docs or the app counts as another site. It is not an archive, so long-term query history stays within 16 months.
Cost. $50 a month for one site, $125 for five and $375 for twenty, with unlimited users on every plan. Enterprise pricing is on request. 14-day trial without a card, with up to 30 sites. SEOTesting pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
3. Ahrefs
What it is. A full SEO suite built on its own crawl of the web: a backlink index, a keyword database, competitor research in Site Explorer, a rank tracker, a site audit crawler and AI visibility tracking in Brand Radar. Its GSC Insights reports read your connected Search Console, keep the data for as long as the account stays connected, and list keywords that Search Console leaves out, taken from Ahrefs' own index.
Why it fits SaaS companies. Content strategy for SaaS starts with what competitors rank for and what people search before they know your brand. That is third-party data, which Ahrefs has and first-party tools do not. Its GSC Insights reports also keep your own Search Console history while you stay connected.
Watch for. Lite is €119 a month with one user, and extra users are listed at €37 to €75 each. There is no free trial of the paid plans.
Cost. Starter is €27 a month with 200 credits; extra users and credits cannot be added to it. Lite, the first full plan, is €119 a month (quoted as $129 in Ahrefs' help centre), Standard €229 and Advanced €419, each with one user. Extra users are listed at €37 to €75 a month each and billed by how much they use the tool. There is no free trial. Ahrefs Free gives verified site owners limited Site Audit, Site Explorer, Web Analytics and GSC Insights at no cost. Ahrefs pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
4. SEO Gets
What it is. A clean, fast Search Console dashboard built for people who run many sites. The free plan covers unlimited sites and team members and includes the master dashboard, growth and decay tabs, branded versus non-branded tracking and Google core updates on charts. The paid Core plan adds GA4, content groups, topic clusters, opportunity reports, annotations that start an SEO test automatically, an MCP server and no-login client links. It reads Search Console live and shows Google's 16 months; longer history is a per-site add-on called Super Sites.
Why it fits SaaS companies. Branded versus non-branded tracking is on the free plan, so a small team can start without buying anything. The $59 Core plan adds content groups, GA4 and automatic tests from annotations, with unlimited team members.
Watch for. History is 16 months unless you add Super Sites. Forecasting is not listed on its feature pages, and alerts for traffic drops are listed on its roadmap as under consideration.
Cost. Free plan. Core is $59 a month or $590 a year. Super Sites, which keep up to five years of history and add index reporting for up to 5,000 pages, cost $10 per site per month. Sites and team members are unlimited on every plan. SEO Gets pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
5. Data Studio
What it is. Google's free dashboard builder, renamed back from Looker Studio in April 2026. Its native Search Console connector feeds any layout you can design, and partner connectors add other sources.
Why it fits SaaS companies. SaaS teams usually have a metrics dashboard already. Data Studio puts Search Console and GA4 next to signups and revenue from your warehouse, for free, in the layout leadership is used to.
Watch for. You build the brand split yourself with a regex field in each report. History is 16 months, and the connector's site-level and page-level tables cannot be combined in one data source.
Cost. Free for report creators and viewers. Data Studio Pro is $9 per user per project per month. Data Studio pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
6. Search Console bulk export to BigQuery
What it is. Google's own daily export of Search Console performance data into a BigQuery dataset that you control. It is not subject to the daily row limit, it keeps anonymized queries as flagged rows with the query text blank instead of dropping them, and the tables are kept forever by default. You query it with SQL or chart it in Data Studio.
Why it fits SaaS companies. If the company already has a data warehouse and analysts, the bulk export puts complete Search Console data next to product and billing tables, so organic search can be joined to signups and revenue in SQL.
Watch for. It needs a data team to be useful, and it does not backfill before the day you switch it on.
Cost. No licence fee. You pay Google Cloud storage and query costs, which have a free usage level, and you need a Cloud project with billing enabled. Google's bulk export documentation. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.

Frequently asked questions
How do I separate branded from non-branded search traffic?
Search Console has had a built-in branded queries filter since late 2025, classified by Google and available on top-level properties that have enough impressions. Tools such as GSC Wizard, SEO Gets and SEOTesting let you define brand terms yourself, usually with regex, which matters if product names or common misspellings should count.
Which Search Console tool shows conversions?
None from Search Console alone, since it has no conversion data. Tools that also read GA4 can put key events next to search clicks by landing page. GSC Wizard, SEO Gets and SEOTesting connect GA4, and Data Studio can blend the two if you build it.
Can I run SEO A/B tests on a SaaS site?
Yes, on groups of similar pages such as integration or template pages. SEOTesting is built for it. GSC Wizard has a simpler two-group comparison. For very large sites, SearchPilot runs server-side split tests from $37,500 a year.
Do I need Ahrefs or Semrush if I have a Search Console tool?
For research, yes. A Search Console tool only knows about queries your site already appears for. Finding topics you do not rank for, or seeing what competitors rank for, needs a suite's third-party data.
