SEOTesting alternatives: 6 options, and when to stay put
SEOTesting does two jobs: Search Console reporting and SEO testing. Most people who look for an alternative want one of them without paying per site for both. So the first thing to decide is which job you are replacing. For testing there are few real substitutes. For reporting there are several, and most cost less.
Disclosure: we make one of the alternatives on this page (GSC Wizard). It gets the same "watch for" note as every other tool, and the page starts with the cases where the honest advice is to stay with SEOTesting. Facts about other products come from each vendor's own website, checked October 3, 2026, and every source is linked at the bottom. Spot an error? Tell us.
On this page
GSC Wizard. Decay, cannibalization, forecasting and an indexing tracker for 15, 75 or 650 properties, from €17 a month.
SEO Gets or SEOTalos. Both include SEO tests for unlimited sites at $59 a month.
SearchPilot. Server-side split tests measured against a forecast, from $37,500 a year.
Should you leave SEOTesting at all?
SEOTesting is the default answer for SEO tests for good reasons, so check these first.
Stay with SEOTesting if
- You run split tests with a control group, or URL switch tests, as a routine. Nothing in its price range matches the range of test types.
- You have one to five sites and a big team. Unlimited users at $50 or $125 a month is fair.
- You send clients its branded monthly PDF. Most alternatives here have no PDF.
- You want a vendor that has been doing this since 2016.
Look elsewhere if
- You manage more than a handful of sites. Twenty sites cost $375 a month, and more need an Enterprise quote.
- You need query and page history beyond 16 months. SEOTesting says it is not an archiving tool.
- You mostly use the reports, not the tests.
- You want a daily index tracker or alerts in Slack and Teams, neither of which we found in its documentation, or Bing data beyond the main dashboard.
- Your site is large enough to need server-side split testing.

| SEOTalos | Cheap tests across a portfolio | $29/mo, 7-day trial | Little public documentation |

6 SEOTesting alternatives
Every entry gets the same four notes. Ours is first because this is our site; read its watch-for note with that in mind.
1. GSC Wizard
What it is. A Search Console, GA4, Bing, Yandex and Google Merchant Center analysis tool. It stores your Search Console history in its own warehouse (up to ten years on stored properties) and builds reports on top: content decay, cannibalization, CTR benchmarks, striking-distance queries, forecasting, anomaly detection and an indexing tracker. Traffic and indexing alerts go to Slack, Microsoft Teams or a webhook, and the same data is available to ChatGPT and Claude through an MCP server, including the Yandex and Merchant Center data.
Why pick it over SEOTesting. If you use SEOTesting for content decay, cannibalization, striking distance and brand reports more than for tests, GSC Wizard covers those at a fraction of the per-site price: €17 for fifteen properties and €39 for seventy-five, against $375 for twenty. It also stores query and page history for up to ten years and has Bing reports, an index tracker and alerts in Slack and Teams.
Watch for. Testing is the weak point. There is one Experimentation report that compares two groups of pages with a significance test, and our own documentation calls it observational. There are no URL switch tests, no matched control selection, no back-testing and no PDF report. Plans include 1, 3 or 10 invited seats, with extra seats at €9 a month each. See the full head-to-head.
Cost. 7-day free trial without a card, then Starter at €17 a month (10 live properties plus 5 with stored history, 15 in total, 1 invited seat), Pro at €39 (50 plus 25, 75 in total, 3 seats) and Business at €249 (500 plus 150, 650 in total, 10 seats). In US dollars that is $19, $49 and $299. Every feature is on every plan. There is no free plan for the web app and no annual discount. GSC Wizard pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
2. SEO Gets
What it is. A clean, fast Search Console dashboard built for people who run many sites. The free plan covers unlimited sites and team members and includes the master dashboard, growth and decay tabs, branded versus non-branded tracking and Google core updates on charts. The paid Core plan adds GA4, content groups, topic clusters, opportunity reports, annotations that start an SEO test automatically, an MCP server and no-login client links. It reads Search Console live and shows Google's 16 months; longer history is a per-site add-on called Super Sites.
Why pick it over SEOTesting. On Core, every annotation you add starts an SEO test automatically. That suits teams that want a before-and-after record of each change without setting anything up. Sites and seats are unlimited for $59 a month, and the free plan already includes decay tabs and branded tracking.
Watch for. The tests are simpler than SEOTesting's: we found no split test against a matched control group in its documentation. History is 16 months unless you pay $10 per site per month for Super Sites, and there is no Bing Webmaster Tools data.
Cost. Free plan. Core is $59 a month or $590 a year. Super Sites, which keep up to five years of history and add index reporting for up to 5,000 pages, cost $10 per site per month. Sites and team members are unlimited on every plan. SEO Gets pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
3. SEOTalos
What it is. A low-cost multi-site Search Console dashboard with SEO tests included on both of its plans.
Why pick it over SEOTesting. SEO testing is included on both plans, and Pro covers unlimited sites and seats for $59 a month. For a portfolio owner who wants tests on thirty sites, that is $59 against an Enterprise quote.
Watch for. It has little public documentation. Its site does not describe how tests are measured, and its roadmap still lists stored history beyond 16 months as planned, so run the 7-day trial against a change whose result you already know before relying on it.
Cost. Starter is $29 a month for 10 sites and 2 seats. Pro is $59 for unlimited sites and seats. 7-day trial. SEOTalos pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
4. SearchPilot
What it is. SEO A/B testing for very large sites. It runs as a server-side layer in front of your site, splits pages into statistically similar control and variant groups, changes only the variants and measures the result against a forecast.
Why pick it over SEOTesting. This is the step up, not the cheaper option. SearchPilot sits in front of your site as a server-side layer, splits pages into statistically similar control and variant groups, makes the change itself and measures the result against a forecast. That removes two weaknesses of any Search Console based test: you do not need developers to ship the change, and the control group is built for you.
Watch for. Core starts at $37,500 a year and is for non-transactional sites only; ecommerce needs a quote. SearchPilot's own guidance is that the site section you test on should receive about 1,000 organic visits a day.
Cost. Core starts at $37,500 a year and is for non-transactional sites only. Commerce and Enterprise are priced on request. SearchPilot pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
5. SEO Stack
What it is. A Search Console data warehouse that has grown into a wider platform. Every site on the plan is warehoused with no row cap, and around that it adds a site audit crawler, NLP content briefs, AI content writing, AI visibility tracking and project management. Its keyword and rank data come from your own Search Console, not from a scraped index.
Why pick it over SEOTesting. If the reason you are leaving is history, SEO Stack warehouses every site on the plan with no row cap. Basic covers 10 websites and 5 team members, and it adds a site audit crawler and AI content writing.
Watch for. It costs more than SEOTesting for a single site. It lists an AI Experiments tool for measuring the impact of changes, but we could not confirm split tests against a matched control group of the kind SEOTesting runs. Its site lists no Bing Webmaster Tools data.
Cost. Basic is $129.99 a month for 10 websites and 5 team members with 60 months of stored history. Pro is $349.99 for 30 websites and Agency $679.99 for 200 websites and 120+ months. Extra websites are $10 a month each. 14-day trial; the pricing page says a card is required, although other pages on its site say it is not. The $19.99 and $69.99 plans you may still see quoted elsewhere are closed to new signups. SEO Stack pricing. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
6. Google Search Console
What it is. Google's own tool, and the source every other product on this page reads from. It has gained a lot recently: an hourly view of the last 24 hours, custom annotations on charts, a branded queries filter on sites with enough impressions, weekly and monthly chart views, query groups in the Insights report for larger sites and, since June 2026, a report on impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode.
Why pick it over SEOTesting. For an occasional check, Search Console is enough. Add a custom annotation on the day you changed a page, then compare the weeks before and after with a page filter. It costs nothing and uses the same data every tool here reads.
Watch for. There is no control group, no adjustment for the site's overall trend and no significance test, so a seasonal rise looks like a win. Annotations are limited to 200 per property and are deleted after 500 days.
Cost. Free. Price checked Oct 3, 2026.
Which alternative fits your reason for leaving
You are replacing the reports
GSC Wizard for depth, history and price per site. SEO Gets if you want it free or flat-priced and 16 months is enough.
You are replacing the tests
SEO Gets or SEOTalos for lighter SEO tests on many sites. SearchPilot if the site is large enough for server-side split tests. In between, stay: SEOTesting is still the best fit.
You need both on a budget
Keep one or two key sites on SEOTesting and move the rest of the portfolio to a cheaper reporting tool.
You have one small site
Search Console with annotations, and the SEOTesting trial when you want to run a proper test.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best SEOTesting alternative?
It depends on which half you use. For Search Console reporting across many sites, GSC Wizard or SEO Gets cost far less per site. For SEO testing, the realistic substitutes are SEO Gets and SEOTalos for simple tests and SearchPilot for enterprise split tests. Nothing in SEOTesting's own price range matches its range of test types.
Is there a free alternative to SEOTesting?
SEO Gets has a free plan for basic Search Console reports, though its automatic tests are on the paid Core plan. For a free before-and-after check, use Search Console's own annotations and date comparison.
Why is SEOTesting expensive for agencies?
It charges per site: $50 for one, $125 for five and $375 for twenty, with more on an Enterprise quote. Users are unlimited, so it is good value for a big team on a few sites and expensive for a small team on many.
Can GSC Wizard replace SEOTesting for SEO tests?
Only for simple cases. It compares two groups of URLs with a significance test and marks the result as observational. It does not have SEOTesting's URL switch tests, matched control groups or back-testing.
