Using it from Slack

The /gscwizard command

Replies are ephemeral, which means only the person who ran the command sees them, unless the command posts to the channel by design. Anything that reads Google or the warehouse answers with a short acknowledgement first and posts the result a moment later.

• /gscwizard help lists the commands. Running it with no arguments does the same.
• /gscwizard check <url> runs a Google URL Inspection on that URL and replies with the verdict.
• /gscwizard report [property] posts that property’s report to the channel now. With no property named it uses the one this channel is subscribed to.
• /gscwizard config opens a settings dialog for the subscription that posts to this channel.
• /gscwizard mute <alert type> [24h|7d] mutes one alert type here. Omit the duration to mute until you clear it.

About check

• The URL has to belong to a Search Console property in your own account.
• URL Inspection needs full Search Console access, not read-only. If the property is connected read-only, the reply says so and points at your Account page. See Connecting Search Console.
• Each check spends one unit of Google’s daily inspection quota for that property, shared with the rest of the app. The reply tells you when the cap is reached; it resets at midnight Pacific. See URL Inspection.
• Results are saved to the property’s inspection history, so a check run from Slack also shows up in the app.

About config

The dialog edits the subscription wired to the channel you ran it in: report sections and the movers dimension for a report, or sensitivity, direction, metrics, and the item cap for alerts. If a channel carries more than one subscription it edits the oldest and tells you how many others there are. Full control lives in the app under Account → Slack, Teams & Webhooks.

Acknowledge and mute

Real-time alert messages arrive with controls attached.

• Acknowledge marks the alert as handled. The controls are replaced in place with a line naming who acknowledged it, so the channel can see what is still open.
• The overflow menu next to it mutes that alert type, or the whole channel, for 24 hours, 7 days, or until cleared. The message rewrites itself the same way.
• Anyone in the channel can use them. Actions are authorised against the workspace, so an id from another workspace does nothing.

Whose account it acts as

A Slack user is matched to a GSC Wizard account by who installed the app, failing that by the single account connected to the workspace, and failing that by the subscription wired to the channel. When several accounts share a workspace and none of those resolve it, the command asks you to run it in a channel that has a GSC Wizard subscription. Commands are paused, like deliveries, if the account’s plan or trial has ended.
